Beloved Friends and Partners:
I begin this report thanking everyone who responded to the emergency relief for the floods in Nepal. As of this writing over $10,500 has come through our books and been sent to two ministries in Nepal that are on the front lines of the relief effort. The initial accounts from people who arrived in the affected region expressed the enormity of the need. The Nepalese government has restricted access and resources to the affected region due to safety concerns but our partners found a way to push through. Initials funds sent have rented facilities for displaced families, provided food, clothing, hygiene items, kitchen wares, solar lighting, etc. We are told the conditions at "holding centers" set up by the government are abysmal, so the relocaton of families is a priority. It is also reported that many children have lost parents. Please continue to pray the Lord will send the right people to minister comfort and peace to those traumatized.
The two ministries we are working with are: Reaching Himalayas Network and New Life Gospel Church. We will continue to receive donations, send the funds and report back to you. Thank you, again for your great and generous heart.

P.S. On September 26, I (Bob) will be participating in a triathlon near our home. This is my 70 year birthday present to myself and, I hope, an inspiration to others. Thank God for His divine health and strength. "As your days, so shall your strength be."
According to information received from local pastors and authorities, a particularly heartbreaking situation is emerging among children who have lost their parents. Some parents had left their villages for work before the disaster, and many are believed to have been swept away by the floods. The children are still waiting and hoping that their parents will return, but sadly, there is little hope that many of them will come back. These children are now struggling to find food and are without guardians to prepare meals, care for them, and provide basic protection. If the local government gives us permission, we are considering how we might safely rescue and provide care for these vulnerable children.
We have also received deeply concerning reports from Upper Timure, Bridim, and Thuman. Some young people and husbands managed to escape during the floods, but they are now living through severe trauma and extremely difficult emotional and physical conditions. They urgently need food, temporary shelter, solar lights, and compassionate support as they begin the long process of recovery and restoration.
We urgently ask for your prayers and financial support. Your partnership will help us respond quickly where the needs are greatest and enable us to provide both immediate relief and, where necessary, rescue assistance in coordination with the local authorities.
