Let’s Not Be Complacent

Today, I was walking and the Lord spoke to me while I was praying for the President and the unrest in our nation. All of us are aware of the impact of Covid-19 and the demonstrations throughout our nation. We have been sheltering in place and limited in our travel within the USA and certainly the world. As we watched and continue to watch this unfold on our TVs or devices. It grieves our hearts. Knowing how we are exhorted in 1 Timothy 2:1-4.

Most of all, I’m writing to encourage you to pray with gratitude to God. Pray for all men with all forms of prayers and requests as you intercede with intense passion. And pray for every political leader and representative, so that we would be able to live tranquil, undisturbed lives, as we worship the awe-inspiring God with pure hearts. It is pleasing to our Savior-God to pray for them. He longs for everyone to embrace his life and return to the full knowledge of the truth.”

I was also thinking about how our travel overseas has been hindered because of Covid-19 and restrictions to USA Citizens entering other nations and regions. I was pondering how these limitations have hindered the Gospel. That is when I heard the Spirit of God say to me, “The complacency of the Church is what hinders the Gospel.” Wow!

As I watch the news it is so easy to stand by and be a spectator, lamenting over the unrest and riots in our nation. Simply spectating is not participating in the Mission of God. God in His Supreme goodness has armed us with the answer to what we are hearing and seeing. I often ponder in my heart the times we live in. I know that as we approach the return of the Lord, first the “Man of Sin” or Antichrist will establish his world order. Yes, we certainly can see the signs of that if we have ears to hear and eyes to perceive. BUT, while we the Church of the Lord Jesus remain on Planet Earth, we have a mission and that mission is the purposes of God, which is, the advancement of the Gospel in every nation, among all people. That is why we pray for our nation and those who are political leaders and representatives, So we would be able to live a tranquil, undisturbed life.Because it is the will of the Father, look at the text, “He Longs for everyone to embrace his life and to come to the full knowledge of the truth.” That’s our mission in the earth and it is only the complacency of His people that hinder that from happening.

We are salt and light in this world. There are no boundaries to the advancement of the Kingdom of God. We are here to bring His Kingdom wherever we are! Governments may limit the mobility of people right now, but they cannot stop the Word of God from having free course! They may say travel is restricted or prohibited, BUT prayer knows no boundaries and traverses time and limits. There are no borders of nations closed to the prayers of the Church of the Lord Jesus! Prayer took down the wall of communist Russia and opened the eastern block of Europe! Prayer opened nations closed to the Gospel, where now the Church is alive and thriving. Prayer will bring down Covid-19 and the unrest that is trying to clothe our nation with lawlessness. We the church have united before in our petitions to Heaven. We have stood before the throne and claimed 1 Timothy 2:1-5 and seen change. So my word of exhortation to you is “take heart!” We the church of Jesus Christ are the most powerful force in the earth and our mission is not done! Our presence is felt when we lift our voices with one accord in prayer for the Word to have free course in our land and in the nations of the world. Our presence is felt, when we take authority in Jesus Name and command the tactics of the enemy to be exposed and ineffective! We are people of Faith and Action, not people of Fear and Complacent! We are the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, the carriers of the Life of God and the Power of the Spirit! We will be informed and participate, not just spectate.

We will be like, “the sons of Issachar who understood the signs of the times and knew the best course for Israel to take.”  1 Chronicles 12:32
